The Dunn Museum opens its new gallery with Alex Ross: Heroes & Villains, showcasing lifelike portraits of Marvel and DC icons. The exhibit includes new works, rare insights from Ross, and a behind-the-scenes look at his creative process.
Linda Raymond donated a 300-year-old bur oak and 2.5 acres in Newport Township to the Lake County Forest Preserves. The tree was central to her family’s life—from weddings to quiet moments. It will now be protected for generations to come.

The Forest Preserves Board approved buying 48 acres to expand Ray Lake and Half Day forest preserves, protecting wetlands, woodlands and trails. Funded by a 2024 bond, the move supports habitat, water quality, and public access goals.
