Since 2007, the Preservation Foundation has encouraged individuals, corporations and foundations to support Forest Preserve projects, programs and places they are passionate about.
Every gift of every size counts. There are many ways you can extend and accelerate the work of the Forest Preserves.
Volunteer Support
Volunteers are the lifeblood of the Forest Preserves, helping us do more in habitat restoration and education programs, at the Dunn Museum and Native Seed Nursery. You can help our volunteer program grow by funding critical training needs, equipment, tools and supplies.

Annual Fund
Your tax-deductible gift will be used where it's needed most. Funds kick-start new initiatives and leverage other grants and donations, such as training and equipping volunteers to conduct prescribed burns to launching a county-wide bumble bee monitoring program.
Donate
Commemorative Gifts
Honor someone special, remember a loved one, or celebrate a milestone, by making a commemorative gift. All commemorative gifts will support the Every Acre Strong campaign.

Every Acre Strong
Every Acre Strong: The Community Campaign for Lake County Forest Preserves will create a $20 million endowment to protect the forest preserves you love, ensuring every acre of habitat we restore remains ecologically healthy. Forever.
Endowments are a powerful tool, as they deliver a dependable, perpetual source of funding. The endowment must reach $20 million to generate the $800,000 needed every year to provide ongoing care of restored lands. Your support is vital in helping us reach our goal.

Lake Plain Conservation
The Lake Plain Coastal Preserves span 15 miles along Lake Michigan from Waukegan, Illinois to Kenosha, Wisconsin, protecting Illinois' last dune and swale system. Here, over 930 plant species and 310 bird species create a biodiversity hotspot.
This critical ecosystem safeguards drinking water for 8.5 million people, supports threatened and endangered species, and offers communities a chance to explore. The Lake Plain Coalition, an alliance of over 20 organizations, works to ensure this irreplaceable landscape continues to thrive for generations.
