The site navigation utilizes arrow, enter, escape, and space bar key commands. Left and right arrows move across top level links and expand / close menus in sub levels. Up and Down arrows will open main level menus and toggle through sub tier links. Enter and space open menus and escape closes them as well. Tab will move on to the next part of the site rather than go through menu items.
Donating appreciated securities is a wonderful way to support the Forest Preserves. It is the Foundation’s policy to sell the stock or security and put the proceeds immediately to work. Per the IRS, the Foundation establishes the value of the stock by calculating the mean average price on the date ownership is transferred.
Monthly donors provide on-going support that we know we can count on. Your gift adds up, helping us restore more, educate more, inspire more for the Forest Preserves.
In 2018, hundreds of people volunteered nearly 30,000 hours in forest preserves throughout Lake County. Our volunteers play a key role in operations and public safety, habitat restoration, cultural preservation and education. There are opportunities available for individuals and groups in a variety of settings—both indoors and out. No prior experience is required. Training is provided for all positions.
