The National Museum of the American Sailor explores the significant contributions of women to Naval Station Great Lakes from its opening in 1911 through the present. This presentation highlights over twenty women who broke legal and civic barriers in the fight for inclusion, equality, and recognition within the United States Navy.

Dressed in Native regalia, award-winning Ojibwa author Kimberly Sigafus will be presenting a program on the American Indian way of life. She will be talking about the tribes that once inhabited Illinois and what happened to them. She'll take the audience through a day in the life of a Native in the 1800's, and discuss how those traditions and beliefs relate to life today. Food, music, village life, and more will be presented.
