Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday: 10 am–3:30 pm
Thursday: Open 6–8 pm on the first and third Thursdays of every month with free admission sponsored by USG
Sunday: 12–3:30 pm
Closed: Mondays; Wednesdays; Fridays; Nov. 25–26; Dec. 24–25; Jan. 1
Special Hours: Open 10 am–3:30 pm on December 29 and December 31

Blue Star Museums Appreciation Program

Our museum is proud to be part of Blue Star Museums, a national appreciation program to thank our military families for their service and share with them America’s cultural treasures. The free admission program is available for those currently serving in the United States Military—Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, Coast Guard as well as members of the Reserves, National Guard, U.S. Public Health Commissioned Corps, NOAA Commissioned Corps, and up to five family members. The 2021 program began on Armed Forces Day, Saturday, May 15, 2021 and ends on Labor Day, Monday, September 6, 2021. Only available with walk-in admission. Please provide ID at the front desk.

Getting Here

The Dunn Museum is located in the General Offices of the Lake County Forest Preserves at 1899 West Winchester Road between Route 45 and Butterfield Road in Libertyville. The entrance is on the south side of the building. Once you turn south onto Technology Way, follow signs to Dunn Museum. 


Gift Shop

The Dunn Museum Gift Shop offers a selection of items inspired by the history and culture of Lake County, including books, posters, notecards, photos, jewelry, apparel and other custom products. Items created by local artisans are also featured in the shop.
