Planning and Land Preservation
Responsible for planning, design, engineering and construction management of our Capital Improvement Plan projects for existing and new forest preserves. Prepares master plans for preserves and trail systems, and coordinates and manages the public participation process for these plans.
Also oversees our land preservation and acquisition program which provides opportunities to expand existing preserves and acquire new ones, extend greenway and trail corridors, and preserve natural resource areas including wetlands, prairies, wildlife habitats and forested areas.
