Director Facilities
As Director, Dan Stearns operates our special facilities and oversees three divisions of the Forest Preserves.
The Construction and Building Trades division maintains 102 buildings in the Forest Preserves and handles new construction.
The Fleet and Facilities division maintains 91 vehicles and other equipment. This division is responsible for preventative maintenance and repairs to building systems.
The Business Development division operates facilities including the Fox River Marina, Greenbelt Cultural Center, Independence Grove and the Lodge at ThunderHawk Golf Club. The division issues special use and vendor permits and coordinates events, including Concerts in the Plaza and SeptOberfest.
