Green Gifts Terms and Conditions
The term of this agreement between the donor and Preservation Foundation of the Lake County Forest Preserves will be 10 years, commencing on the date of purchase.
The Lake County Forest Preserves will arrange for the purchase and installation of the gift. The donor and Lake County Forest Preserves will mutually agree on the gift location.
Gifts will be maintained as a part of the Lake County Forest Preserves general maintenance efforts and precautions will be taken to minimize the risk of theft or vandalism. In the unlikely event of loss through damage or as a result of a natural event, we will replace your gift without charge during the terms of agreement.
Donors are encouraged to report gift conditions to the Preservation Foundation staff if there are any concerns. Forest Preserve staff will conduct a visual inspection and provide recommendations for the gift.
The Preservation Foundation will arrange for the fabrication and installation of the plaque, with language that is mutually agreed upon. Plaque text will be a standard character font and will not include symbols or pictures. Donors will be provided proofs before fabrication begins.
Benches and plaques are designed “to weather” and will not be treated with preservatives. Some maintenance may be undertaken, at the discretion of the Lake County Forest Preserves. A visual inspection of your gift can be requested if the donor feels the gift is damaged.
If necessary, the Lake County Forest Preserves has the right to temporarily remove the gift for maintenance, or, only if necessary, relocate the gift in consultation with the donor.
We encourage donors to keep their personal information updated.
