Banana and Taylor Lakes Fishing

Lakewood has five designated fishing areas. Most are natural ponds and sloughs that were dammed to create deeper, permanent lakes and ponds. Banana Lake is closed for trout stocking the second half of each March and the first half of each October. Ice fishing is permitted on Banana Lake only when conditions allow.



Located in Wauconda in southwestern Lake County. At corner of Route 176 and Fairfield Road, go west on Route 176 to preserve entrance. Follow signs to the Lake County Discovery Museum.
