Details

The Lake County History symposium is an annual event that unites individuals with a shared passion for delving into the rich tapestry of Lake County history. Experience engaging presentations centered on original research from speakers with diverse backgrounds ranging from historians, museum professionals, historical societies and history enthusiasts.

This year's theme, How Cultures and Traditions Shaped Lake County Communities, explores ways individuals and groups have influenced this area through their heritage. Discover how generations of Lake Countians have made an impact and strengthened communities by sharing their culture through traditional food, art, celebrations, businesses, or civic life. Each day will feature presentations that explore different perspectives and experiences.  The program will include engaging discussions and Q&A sessions with the speakers.

Professionals, students and enthusiastic historians are invited to submit proposals for presentations at the symposium that connect to the theme. Submissions are accepted until November 9, 2026.

FREE, registration required.

A Zoom link will be emailed to registered participants at least one hour prior to the start of the program. If you do not receive the link, please check your junk/SPAM folder. Please email [email protected] if you haven't received the link by an hour before the program is scheduled to begin.
