October is Oak Awareness Month in Illinois! Learn about the importance of oaks to whiskey and bourbon production through a talk and tasting with representatives from Journeyman Distillery in Three Oaks, Michigan and Whiskey Acres Distilling Co. in DeKalb, Illinois.
Then learn about oaks' role as keystone species in Lake County through a guided hike in a designated old-growth forest at Independence Grove Forest Preserve in Libertyville.
Guests will receive a tasting glass, three tastings from Journeyman Distillery and three tastings from Whiskey Acres Distilling Co. Light bites will be provided. All proceeds benefit the Every Acre Strong campaign.
