Maple Syruping
Illinois Science Standards »
Available in March.
Students learn how trees turn water, the sun’s energy and air into sap. Then it’s into the sugar bush to practice drilling and watch the sap flow. A stop at the evaporator shows how sap becomes syrup. For in-person field trips, everyone gets a chance to compare sap and taste real Ryerson maple syrup.
