Bess Bower Dunn Day

Celebrate the life and legacy of Bess Bower, Lake County’s first official historian, with free individual admission, special programs and a taste of local history throughout the day. Pick up an activity sheet at the front desk to learn about the museum’s namesake as you explore the exhibits.

The GlenRock Promotional Event Trailer will also be on-site from 10 am–4:30 pm, offering a variety of GlenRock Pop flavors for purchase. The iconic local soft drink brings back fond memories for generations of Lake County residents.

Getting Here

The Dunn Museum is located in the General Offices of the Lake County Forest Preserves at 1899 West Winchester Road between Route 45 and Butterfield Road in Libertyville. The entrance is on the south side of the building. Once you turn south onto Technology Way, follow signs to Dunn Museum. 		 Dunn_055B

The Dunn Museum Gift Shop offers a selection of items inspired by the history and culture of Lake County, including books, posters, notecards, photos, jewelry, apparel and other custom products. Items created by local artisans are also featured in the shop.
