All contributions to the Preservation Foundation’s Annual Fund help us advance the vision and mission of the Lake County Forest Preserves to preserve and restore natural lands and to provide opportunities for nature and history education and outdoor recreation.
Although public funds cover the basic operations of the Forest Preserves, private donations to the Preservation Foundation help fund special projects that would otherwise not be possible. It is because of the generosity of donors like you that our forest preserves remain a destination for new discoveries.
To ensure our forest preserves are always evolving, the Preservation Foundation has directed Annual Fund contributions to initiatives such as:
-
Ten years of Science Explorers in Nature—a summer enrichment program that has graduated more than 300 budding naturalists.
-
Ongoing habitat restoration and public access improvements at the Grassy Lake Forest Preserve.
-
The new Dunn Museum, securing the future of our historic collections for years to come.
Our successes are possible because of support from people like you. Whether you give to our Annual Fund once or on an annual basis, you are contributing to the future of the forest preserves you treasure.
You can make a secure donation today online, or contact Rebekah Snyder, Executive Director of the Preservation Foundation, at 847-968-3434 or email.
