Playgrounds

PlaygroundIG-website

A trip to the playground is a great opportunity for caregivers to connect with children outdoors. Running, climbing and swinging is fun, but research shows that play time is also essential to cognitive, physical and emotional development.

Treat children to some fun, fresh air and exercise in a natural forest preserve setting at one of our nine playgrounds. Then, venture into the surrounding preserve for some unstructured exploration.

Most playgrounds have picnic shelters, toilets, drinking water and trails nearby.

Smoke-Free Environments

Our playgrounds are smoke-free environments. Smoking is prohibited within 15 feet of playgrounds.
