Conservation and Restoration

Volunteer Position Location Special Requirements
Wildlife Monitor Various Preserves Background check required. Must be at least 18 years of age. Works on uneven terrain.
Restoration Workdays Various Preserves Must be at least 10 years of age. Adult accompanied children allowed.
River Steward Des Plaines River Must be at least 18 years of age. One season commitment required. Canoe experience desired.
Gardener Bonner Farm
Independence Grove		 Must be at least 18 years of age. Workdays at Independence Grove are Mondays and Thursdays, 9 am–noon
Seed Nursery Rollins Savanna Must be at least 10 years of age. Adult accompanied children allowed.

 

Nature Education

Volunteer Position Location Special Requirements
Nature Education Various Preserves Background check required. Must be 18 years old.
Paddle Sports Various Preserves
(April–October)		 Background check required. Must be 18 years old. One season commitment required. 

 

Dunn Museum

Volunteer Position Location Special Requirements
Visitor Engagement Volunteer Dunn Museum All Visitor Engagement positions are currently full.
Background check required. Must be 18 years old. 
Collections and Archives Dunn Museum All Collections and Archives positions are currently full.
Background check required. Must be at least 18 years old.
