Camp: Fishing Camp
This virtual camp will feature a 1-hour live video session Monday, Wednesday, and Friday with Educator, Mark Hurley. Each session will build on the previous day covering fish adaptations, fish pole maintenance and set up, baiting a hook, lure selection, casting techniques, hook removal, and much more. Campers will be given links to previously recorded short videos of Mark fishing at Independence Grove that can be viewed after the live sessions or on the days in-between.

There will be opportunities for anglers to share, either verbally or through posted photos, their own fishing experiences as well as ask questions. Campers questions will also be addressed in the live videos.

This camp is for children ages 9–11 by the first day of camp. Choose only one Fishing Camp session per child.

We are unable to make age exceptions because the activities are geared to cognitive, emotional and physical abilities of this camp's specific age range.

Screenshots, recordings, and other images may be periodically taken of participants in Forest Preserve District programs and activities. All persons registering for Forest Preserve District programs and activities thereby agree, for themselves and the minors that they register, that any such image may be used by the District for promotional, educational, and other purposes, including for its website, promotional videos, brochures, fliers and other publications, without additional, prior notice or permission and without compensation to the participant.
