Great Backyard Bird Count
Stop by the Ryerson Woods Welcome Center to help us gather important data about our local bird populations.

We're joining thousands of other citizen scientists for the 2019 Great Backyard Bird Count, a joint effort between the National Audubon Society and The Cornell Lab of Ornithology. Data collected across the United States and the world is used by scientists to monitor bird populations.

Drop in anytime between 11:30 AM-3:30 PM and make your observations count. You can observe our feeders or take a walk through the woods and let us know what you saw. We will submit all data to the Great Backyard Bird Count data base.

A touchtable and craft will be available for kids of all ages.

If you are new to birdwatching, this is a great time to start. One of our educators will be on hand to help with bird identification and binocular use.

Bird identification books and binoculars will be available.

FREE. No registration required.

Adult supervision required.

Meet at Welcome Center.
