Community Conservation: Removing Buckthorn

Join Forest Preserve staff to learn about the impacts of European buckthorn on our local ecosystems and how to manage the invasive weed in your home landscape. Buckthorn identification, removal best practices and herbicide use will be covered.

This presentation will be held almost entirely outdoors, weather permitting. Please dress for the weather. Please be prepared to be off trail removing buckthorn during this hands-on workshop. Long sleeves and pants and sturdy, closed-toe shoes recommended.

We will provide tools, safety classes and work gloves. All participants will be required to wear the appropriate safety equipment.

FREE.

Please register so that we can be sure to have enough equipment for all participants.
