Summer Camp: Make a Museum
(09:00 AM - 12:00 PM)
Ever wonder how a museum works? This camp explores what it takes to build and operate a museum. Campers will have the opportunity to interact with museum professionals, learn about collections, and how to design an exhibit. As they learn, they will create their own temporary exhibit which will open up on the last day of camp.
Restoration Workday: Ela Prairie (Cuba Marsh)
(09:00 AM - 11:00 PM)
Grab some work gloves and join other volunteers to save some of Lake County's natural areas. Workdays are a great opportunity to spend time outdoors, make new friends who share a concern for the preserves and make a meaningful contribution.
History Hacked: Cradleboard
(02:00 PM - 02:45 PM)
How did the Potawatomi care for their children in the 19th century? Are cradleboards still used today? Find out the answers to these questions and more as we take a closer look at a cradleboard from our collections and learn about Potawatomi childcare and family life.
