Flooding and other weather-related events, construction projects, and controlled burns sometimes result in temporary detours or closures of trails, preserves, facilities, and seasonal activities in order to ensure public safety.
Emergency alerts, preserve and trail closures, construction projects, controlled burn locations, and seasonal activity notices are posted on our interactive maps. Maps are updated during normal business hours, 8:30 am–5 pm, Monday–Friday, excluding holidays. Alerts and updates are sometimes also posted on Facebook and Twitter.
Before heading out, check the current status (open/closed) of preserve trails, and trail underpasses along the Des Plaines River Trail, the Millennium Trail and other trail tunnel locations.
Check for emergency alerts, closure notices, construction projects, and controlled burn locations.
Before heading out to Independence Grove in Libertyville, check for updates on concerts, the beach and marina. You can also call the Independence Grove hotline at 847-968-3499 or follow us on Twitter for updates.
Get information and check status of sledding, skating, ice fishing, snowmobiling, and cross-country skiing activities before you bundle up and head out.
