Join us virtually for a Q&A on the Openlands Lakeshore Preserve acquisition.
On June 5, the Planning Committee of the Lake County Forest Preserves approved a resolution recommending the acceptance of the 77–acre Openlands Lakeshore Preserve. If the project proceeds, it will add 1 mile of public shoreline to Fort Sheridan Forest Preserve, as well as beautifully restored ravines and blufftops and accessible trails and overlooks.
Forest Preserve Executive Director Alex Ty Kovach and Rebekah Snyder, director of community engagement and partnerships, will provide a brief update on next steps and answer questions.
