Annual Off-Leash Dog Area Permit

At our popular Off-Leash Dog Areas, top dogs come from Lake County and beyond to play, swim, bark and run off-leash. A daily or annual permit allows you and your canine companion to enjoy five uniquely different sites designed just for dogs.

To determine your pricing, please proceed through the following steps.

Step 1: Enter your address.
Step 2: Enter first dog's rabies tag number, then add tags for each additional dog (up to three). Do the same for license plate numbers. Enter first vehicle's plate number, then add plates for each additional vehicle (up to three) you wish to use to transport dogs to the park. First two vehicle stickers are included with cost of permit, third sticker is $5.

Agreements

Terms of Agreement
For everyone's safety and enjoyment, please adhere to the following rules, regulations and restrictions while visiting our Off-Leash Dog Areas. Violation may result in a fine/suspension of permit use. For questions or a complete list of rules, you can view all ordinances governing the use of preserves and trails, or call 847-549-5200 and ask to speak to a Ranger.

  • I acknowledge that the license plate numbers listed on the permit are registered to the vehicles transporting dogs to the areas.
  • I acknowledge that the rabies tag numbers listed on the permit are current and registered to the dogs using the areas.
  • ALL SALES ARE FINAL. No refunds or credits.

Rules and Regulations

  • Permit and dog are required for entry. Use at your own risk. Display vehicle sticker on your car's windshield below the tinted area. Stickers are not transferable. Replacement stickers can be purchased by current annual permit holders for $5.
  • Park in lots only. Loitering in lots is prohibited. Vehicles left after closing will be towed at owner’s expense.
  • Keep dogs leashed while in parking lots, walkways and unfenced areas. Close fence gate behind you after entering the area.
  • No more than three dogs per person are allowed during any one visit.
  • Approved canine activities include swimming, dog exercise, retrieving, tracking, pointing and obedience training.
  • Alcoholic beverages, food, dog toys, treats, chews and rawhide are not permitted.
  • Horses, cats, other pets, game animals or birds are not permitted. 
  • Bikes, boats, swimming, fishing, ice fishing, snowmobiles, camping, fires, collecting, hunting, firearms, releasing animals or non-native plant species, and off-road or motorized vehicles are not permitted.
  • Children must be accompanied by an adult and are expected to behave appropriately. Do not run or chase after dogs, and never attempt to pet other dogs unless permission is granted by that dog's owner.
  • You must remain in the Off-Leash Dog Area with your dog and closely supervise your dog at all times. You are solely responsible for controlling your dog. You must maintain visual contact and voice control of your dog. If aggressive behavior is observed, you must leash your dog and remove it from the area. You are responsible for any injury or damage to other dogs or the public caused by your dog. 
  • Clean up after your dog. Bags provided. Deposit bags, other litter in proper receptacles. Failure to pick up after your dog could result in a $120 fine.
  • Violation of rules, regulations or restrictions may result in a fine and/or suspension of permit use.

For your dog's health and safety:

  • Dogs must be at least four months old to visit.
  • Dogs must have a current rabies vaccination tag and number, as required by state law. If your dog's vaccination is not current, please call your vet. Consult with your vet regarding other recommended vaccinations or preventives.
  • Leave sick dogs home. They are not allowed in the area when ill.

Waiver and Release of All Claims and Indemnification Agreement

  • Please read this form carefully and be aware that in consideration for permission to use these facilities, you will be expressly assuming the risk and legal liability and waiving and releasing all claims for injuries, damages or loss which you or your dog might sustain as a result of participating in any and all activities connected with and associated with use of these facilities and the surrounding areas.
  • I recognize and acknowledge that use of these facilities and the surrounding areas for dog activities and participating in dog activities entails certain risks of damage, loss or injury to animals, persons or property (including to me, other persons, my dog and other dogs or animals), and I voluntarily agree to assume the full risk of and responsibility for any injuries, damages, loss, liability, costs and expenses, regardless of severity, extent or amount, that (a) I, my dog or any other person accompanying me might sustain or incur as a result of my presence in these facilities and surrounding areas or my participating in any and all activities connected with or associated with use of these facilities and the surrounding areas; or (b) any other person or animal might sustain as a result of my or my dog’s actions or conduct in connect with or arising out of my presence in these facilities and surrounding areas or my participating in any and all activities connected with or associated with use of these facilities and surrounding areas.
  • I do hereby agree to waive, relinquish, release and forever discharge (a) the District, and its officers, directors employees and agents, and (b) any volunteer assisting or working on behalf of the District or any of its officers, directors, employees or agents from any and all claims or causes of action for injuries, damages, loss, liability or expenses that I may have or which may accrue hereafter to me or any other person claiming through me or on my behalf and arising out of, connected with, or in any way associated with this use of these facilities and surrounding areas.
  • I further agree to indemnify and hold harmless and defend (a) the District and its officers, directors, employees and agents, and (b) any volunteer assisting or working on behalf of the District agents from and against any and all losses, claims, damages, liabilities, cause of actions, and expenses (including but not limited to court costs and attorney fees), occurring, growing out of, incident to, or resulting directly or indirectly from my use of these facilities and surrounding areas, including without limitation any losses, claims, damages, liabilities, cause of actions and expenses on account of personal injury to or death of any person or animal, damages to property of any person or entity (including but not limited to the District).

Ordinance violations and fineable offenses:

  • Clean up after your dog. Bags provided. Deposit bags and all other litter in proper receptacles.
  • Control your dog and maintain visual contact and voice control at all times.
  • You are responsible for any injury or damage to other dogs or to the public caused by your dog.
