Nature Education

Volunteers play an important role in educating visitors about the environment and teaching outdoor skills. Commitments vary with position. Comprehensive training is provided.

Youth Program Guides teach nature themed school field trip programs. Volunteers ideally commit to at least one weekday per week from 9 am–2 pm.

Public Program Guides assist or lead general public nature programs and activities at special events for a variety of age groups.

Nature Walk Guides lead walks for adults like Hike Lake County, RX for Health, Walk with a Naturalist and more. No prior natural history knowledge is needed. Training is provided.

Leave No Child Inside Aides assist or lead outdoor nature play activities for children and parents.
