Preserve Watch
Preserve Watch invites you to report any unusual activity on forest preserve property to our Rangers or the Lake County Sheriff's Department.
To report an emergency, call 911.
To report a non-emergency, from 6:30 am - 3 pm weekdays, call 847-968-3411, after 3pm and on weekends, call the Lake County Sheriff's Department at 847-549-5200 or fill out our e-mail tip form below anytime.
What you should report
Non-emergency situations that do not immediately threaten life or property can be reported via this e-mail tip form. Please let us know if you encounter on-going unusual activity such as dogs off-leash, fishing or hunting violations, dumping, encroachment or anything else you feel we should know. If you'd like to report an incident, please use the form below. The following information is especially helpful:
Automobile Vehicle make and model, color, year, license plate number and state, and any distinguishing features
Individual(s) Number of people involved, physical description (height, weight, race, sex, age), description of clothing.
Every spring and fall, you will see our ecologists safely burn hundreds of acres to improve natural habitats near you.
