Trails at Greenbelt and Prairie Wolf Slough feature trailside panels explaining the history and unique aspects of each preserve. At Ryerson Woods, trailside exhibit panels and numbered posts correspond to seasonal brochures and an audio-interpreted trail guide. At Bonner Heritage Farm, exhibits include larger-than-life metal livestock, a windmill and weather station, and a hands-on children's play maze. Life-size cut-outs tell the story of the Bonner family and farming in Lake County. Visit the lobby of the Independence Grove Visitors Center to learn about how we reclaimed a gravel pit for wildlife and recreational use. And a special outdoor exhibit about bats can be found at Lakewood's picnic Shelter E area. |
