Frog Monitor

Location: Lake County Forest Preserves
Application deadline: Open until filled

The volunteer wildlife monitoring program is designed to gather baseline data on the various forms of wildlife in the Lake County Forest Preserve District to help in the understanding and preservation of such wildlife in natural areas.

After training by District staff, Frog Monitors will regularly walk a trail in teams, listening for frog calls, noting the nature, frequency and time of the calls, as well as the weather conditions.

EXPERIENCE:

No experience required. Training is provided to enable volunteer monitors to recognize the various calls unique to several different frog species.
