Areas of focus are museum education, public programming and summer camp, front desk/museum store staffing, and working with volunteers. Duties include: teaching school, scout and public programs; staffing summer camps and special events. The Education Assistant will be required to work some evenings and weekends. Qualified applicants should have experience working with children in an informal educational environment. This could include museums, libraries, day care, summer camp, park districts, etc. Two years of college level coursework in education, history, museum studies or related field is required. Education and communication skills necessary to plan and present education programs for large and small groups of children and adults. Must possess valid driver’s license.
