Preservation Foundation of the Lake County Forest Preserves

The Preservation Foundation of the Lake County Forest Preserves, a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization, was founded in 2007 to provide meaningful ways for the community to partner in the mission of the Lake County Forest Preserves.

Our Achievements

Since the inception of the Preservation Foundation in 2007, we have made significant achievements.
Generous support of our donors has made an impact on the preservation and restoration of native habitats, as well as the educational and cultural programs for our region.

Lake County Forest Preserve District has been able to:

plant over 4,800 trees
preserve 603 acres
plan for restoring the 308-acre Grainger Woods Conservation Preserve
graduate 100 students from Science First in Lake County program

Ways to Give

There are many ways for you to support the Preservation Foundation of the Lake County Forest Preserves– through a gift to the Annual Fund, sponsorship of an exhibition or event, a planned gift, or through a gift made in tribute to a friend, family member or in honor of a special occasion.

The Annual fund

When you give to the annual fund, your gift will help us with these and other projects and programs that otherwise could not be done or would take many years to accomplish:

preserve open space through acquisition of new lands
restore existing lands
expand the 140 mile trail system
provide opportunities for students from low income communities so they can access quality environmental and cultural education.

You can make your donation to the Preservation Foundation go even further if your employer or your spouse's employer offers a matching gift program. Many companies will double or triple their employees' charitable contributions. Contact your human resources department or view this list of participating companies to see if your employer has a matching gift policy.
