Barnes and Noble Book Fair benefits Discovery Museum

If you’re looking for a great way to finish your holiday shopping while also contributing to a favorite local attraction, check out the annual Barnes and Noble Book Fair event starting Thursday, November 29 through Tuesday, December 4.

Here’s how it works: When you visit any Barnes and Noble bookstore and present this Book Fair voucher, a percentage of your purchase, even café treats, will benefit the Lake County Discovery Museum in Wauconda. During the event dates, you can also make qualifying purchases online or by phone using the same voucher.

Stop by the Vernon Hills Barnes and Noble on Thursday, November 29, for activities surrounding the museum's newest temporary exhibit Dickens: 200 Years of Celebrity. Activities include Victorian Christmas crafts for children, costumed performers, selected readings from Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol,” a café chat with Dickens scholar Peter Ponzio and Christmas music performed by the Vernon Hills High School Chamber choir. A complimentary gift wrapping table will also be available from 4–9:30 pm.

For more information about the Barnes and Noble Book Fair event, call 847-247-1157 or visit the Book Fair’s event page.
