The beautifully designed 19,000-square-foot Visitors Center is situated along the east shore of the preserve's 115-acre lake. The facility offers a spacious interior with a classroom, nature, history and traveling exhibits and a cafe with indoor and outdoor service. Walls of windows offer panoramic views of the lake and preserve.
It can be reserved for weddings and other private celebrations, corporate meetings and retreats, and community functions. For rental and catering arrangements, call Events at Independence Grove at 847-247-1111.
The Center's largest rental space, Audubon Hall accommodates up to 350 people. It features elevated ceilings and a spacious design, making it the perfect setting for your next celebration or corporate meeting. More intimate settings are available by reserving one of the smaller partitioned spaces. For warm weather events, the indoor space flows easily outdoors onto a covered veranda.
The picturesque Millennia Plaza and surrounding amphitheater, fountain and native garden is an ideal setting for a variety of special programs, events and outdoor celebrations. For rental and catering arrangements, call Events at Independence Grove at 847-247-1111.

Snacks, light entrees, beverages and ice cream are available from a convenient walk-up window on the north side of the Visitors Center.
Free for Lake County residents; $5 per car for nonresidents Mon–Thu, $10 Fri, Sat, Sun and holidays.
During the annual Events in the Plaza summer music series, parking is $6 per car after 5 pm on concert days (Tuesdays, rain or shine) for concertgoers and all other preserve visitors. Cars are turned away when parking is full.
Lake County residents can purchase a vehicle window sticker to bypass stopping to show the required proof of county residency on each visit. Just point out your sticker to the gate attendant and they'll wave you through. The sticker is good for the life of the vehicle's window and is non-transferrable. Fee is $5 and available for purchase at the Visitors Center.
Pets not permitted
With the exception of service animals, dogs, horses and other pets are not permitted in this preserve.
