New Preserve History Signs
Six new trailside educational signs have been installed at Van Patten Woods (the first Lake County Forest Preserve), Captain Daniel Wright Woods, Grant Woods, Greenbelt, Independence Grove, and Lakewood Forest Preserve. Each panel tells the history and significance of the Preserve in which it is located. Panel highlights include information about the site's notable natural features, facts about previous owners and the land's past use, and details about how it came to be a Forest Preserve.
New panels will be added each year.
