Living History Day | July 10, 2010, 10 am - 5 pm
Wander through civilian camps and Civil War shops to see blacksmiths, quilters, tinsmiths and other historical figures from that era. Experience a soldier's life with reenactments of pay day, weapon checks, drills and mail call. Listen to the songs and stories of Harriet Tubman or a compelling address by President and Mrs. Lincoln. Meet Generals Custer, Lee, Grant, Jackson and Sherman. Visit a recreation of the 1863 Summer Agricultural Fair.
The Big Battle | July 11, 2010, 9 am - 3 pm
On Sunday, civilian camps and sutler's shops remain open as units prepare for the narrated battle. Artillery, infantry, cavalry and medical units all contribute to this large-scale living history demonstration. Arrive by 12:30 pm to secure a good viewing spots for the narrated battle, which starts at 1:30 pm. Presentations by Sojourner Truth, President and Mrs. Lincoln, and Civil War era generals round out the day.
