Celebrate the emergence of Brood XIII at this free festival for the whole family at a site with lots of cicadas.
- Cicada discovery. Forest Preserve naturalists will explain and answer questions as you observe the insects in an emergence zone.
- Presentations by Dr. Gene Kritsky, periodical cicada expert.
- Cicada costume contest. Kids, come in your best cicada costumes! We'll have a parade and award prizes.
- Explore the hands-on exhibits of the CicadaMobile.
- Illinois Natural History Survey Traveling Science Center.
- Music, games, crafts and wagon rides.
