Scout Saturday: Bird Study
Learn about and observe birds that live in and migrate through Lake County as you earn the Bird Study Merit Badge.

Join us for a morning spent learning about and observing local and migratory birds. Please bring your signed Blue Card and our staff Merit Badge Counselor will sign off upon your completion of the badge requirements. Please dress for the weather, we will be outside observing birds for a portion of the program. Bring a water bottle and snack. Binoculars and a bird guide book are optional, we will provide both. Please download and fill out required paperwork and bring with you to the program. We will supply worksheets.

Remember to bring:

  • Emergency contact information
  • Waiver and release
  • Blue Card signed by your unit leader (we do not supply the Blue Card)
  • Snack and water bottle
  • Appropriate clothing for being outside
  • Completed requirements, optional

Meet at the classroom cabins. This is a drop off program and there is no need for adults to stay, but it is necessary to accompany your scout to the cabins to confirm details of the program.

All scouts must be at the Boy Scout level of scouting.
