Be one of the first to view the traveling exhibition, First Folio! The Book that Gave Us Shakespeare, at its only stop in Illinois, enjoy refreshments and stay for the lecture, The First Folio: What It Gives Us, What Would Have Been Lost, starting at 6 pm.
As the only reliable source for about twenty of Shakespeare's plays, the First Folio provides most of what we know about his plays. This talk imagines what would have been lost without the First Folio, and shows how the it gives us a view of the playwright's work as a totality.
Reception opens at 5 pm, lecture begins at 6 pm.
