Barrington Greenway Initiative Workday
Dive deep into the wilds of southwest Lake County to restore globally rare habitats of the Barrington Greenway.

Assist with brush-cutting at Grassy Lake Forest Preserve and help remove woody invasive species to create healthier natural landscapes. In one morning, you can make a positive difference for the native plants and wildlife of Grassy Lake.

Volunteers should dress for the work and weather, including long pants, sturdy shoes, and work gloves. All ages and levels of experience are welcome.

If the weather is questionable (thunderstorms, heat, or subzero wind chill), please contact the coordinator below prior to attending the workday.

This workday is organized by the Barrington Greenway Initiative, a partnership between the Bobolink Foundation, Audubon Great Lakes, Citizens for Conservation, Lake County Forest Preserves, Forest Preserves of Cook County, and Friends of the Forest Preserves.
