The site navigation utilizes arrow, enter, escape, and space bar key commands. Left and right arrows move across top level links and expand / close menus in sub levels. Up and Down arrows will open main level menus and toggle through sub tier links. Enter and space open menus and escape closes them as well. Tab will move on to the next part of the site rather than go through menu items.

Though Adlai E. Stevenson II held just one elective office––Governor of Illinois from 1948–1952––he was commissioned by Look Magazine in 1953 to make a five month around-the-world tour to write a series of articles about his observations and findings. Although he wanted to travel as a private citizen, Stevenson was prevailed upon by the State Department to accept the persistent invitations from the heads of state in almost all 35 countries he was scheduled to visit. The private photographs from Stevenson's trip are being shown at the Lake County Discovery Museum publicly for the first time.
