Museum Benefit Bookfair

Get a jump on holiday shopping while supporting the Friends of the Lake County Discovery Museum. Present this voucher at any Barnes & Noble with your purchase on December 11 and a portion of the sale proceeds will be donated to the Museum's support organization. The voucher can be used on purchases of books and calendars, as well as purchases from the store's cafe.

Special accompanying events in the Vernon Hills store include:

• 11 am - Talk on Lake County history by Diana Dretske, Collections Coordinator at the Lake County Discovery Museum. Hear stories that illustrate Lake County's unique place in history. Learn about Buffalo Bill Cody, the beginnings of the motion picture industry, and Prohibition era gangsters.
• 6 pm - Children's story reading by Katherine Hamilton-Smith, Director of Cultural Resources at the Lake County Forest Preserves
• 6-8 pm - Arcadia authors' book signing, including Diana Dretske, author of "Fort Sheridan," Shawn Killackey, author of "Mundelein," Susan Kelsey, author of "Downtown Lake Forest," and Jim Moran, author of "Libertyville."

A complimentary gift wrapping table will be available from 5 to 10 p.m.
