Civil War Encampment: Living History Day


The boom of cannons, the crack of rifle shots and the thunder of horse hooves will welcome you to the 13th annual Civil War Days Encampment. Ongoing drills, activities and shopping available both days.

July 10, Saturday - Living History Day

Noon - 3 pm

On Saturday, wander through civilian camps and shops to see blacksmiths, quilters, candlemakers, tinsmiths, fortune tellers and more. Experience a soldier's life with reenactments of payday, weapon checks, drills and a mail call. Listen to the songs and stories of Harriet Tubman or a compelling address by President and Mrs. Lincoln.

Afternoon/Evening Camp Tours and Artillery Drill 

July 11, Sunday - The Big Battle

10 am - 4 pm, Narrated Battle at 2 pm

On Sunday, camps remain open as units prepare for the narrated battle at 2 pm.
