On June 27-28, 2008, more than 100 scientists blanketed Middlefork Savanna Forest Preserve to inventory as many living creatures as they could find on that site in 24 hours.

Final species lists are available. These checklists are the combined results of all taxonomy teams.

In all, 1,105 species of plants and animals were identified at Middlefork Savanna.
