The Lake County Forest Preserves is undertaking a master planning process for recent land additions at the Fox River Preserve. The master plan will identify appropriate recreation improvements and natural resource restoration for the 312 acres recently added to the preserve.
A Project Program Summary lists elements that have been considered in the master plan process.
The planning process will take place in the following three phases:
1. Concept Development
Information has been gathered about the site and a preliminary concept plan has been developed.
2. Public Input
A public open house was held in November 2009 to present information and take comments about the proposed plan.
3. Conceptual Master Plan approved
Results of the November 2009 open house were presented to the Board of Commissioners in February 2010. A final conceptual master plan was approved by the Board on April 13. Funding for this project is budgeted in 2013. |
